New Years Eve Makeup

Welcome back to An appetite for makeup.

So for todays post, I thought I would do a makeup tutorial on this really dark smokey eye, perfect for New Years Eve.

I am just showing you the products for the eyes and the lips because they are the focus of the look, so just do your face make up however you may choose.

So first, using a black eyeliner, preferably a crayon cream type khol liner, I used the Master kajal kohl liner from Maybelline.

Colour in your eye lid, not going past your crease.
Don't worry if it's a little messy because we are going to blend for our lives later.

Next, using a big eyeshadow brush, go over the top of the cream eyeliner base and blend in to your crease with Black Market eyeshadow from the naked smokey Pallette.

With the eyeshadow, try and wing it out a little.

Next using Dagger eyeshadow from the same Pallette, deepen the colour aswell as adding a little sparkle.

You can always go back in with the darker shadow to deepen the crease, until you are happy with the look.

Next using a smudge brush, I used the one that came with the Naked smokey Pallette.

I smudged Black Market on the outer third of my water line.

Next using Dagger, put a little in the centre of my waterline, and then High eyeshadow on the inner corner of my eye.

This really opens the eye, however if you don't have a really pigmented eyeshadow like High, you could use a shimmery gold with a little water or setting spray on your brush or even use your highlighter.

I still wasn't satisfied with the look, so I used Marsk loose pigment in the shade, fifty shades, with Urband Decay's Makeup Setting Spray on my brush to instensify the colour.

I used this with a flat eyeshadow brush and put it right on the centre of my eyelid and in the inner corner.

I thought as the look was so dark, I didn't think it need eyeliner, so I just put lashes on. I used Eyure Volume Lashes No 100, these lashes don't have a dark band and I think it suits the look, to show of the eye shadow.

I wanted the focus to be on the eye so I went for a slightly brown nude, I went for Gerrard Cosmetics liquid lipstick in the shade Cher and then put MACs Creme Cup in the middle of my lips.

So here is the finished look, I hope you like it....................

What make up look with you be wearing this New Years Eve?

I hope you have enjoyed todays post and hope you have a brilliant New Years Eve.

Thankyou so much for reading.

Blogmas Day 24: Mulled wine

Welcome back to An appetite for makeup.

Happy Christmas Eve!!!!!!.........

For some time now, it's been a tradition of mine to make Mulled Wine on Christmas Eve, I love mulled wine but never have been able to replicate to mulled wine you get at Christmas markets.
Until now.......
So I thought I would share my recipe.

So first, the 'Wine' I don't really drink red wine so I don't know what is the best to use but I figure your adding lots of sugar and spice to it so I don't think it matters, here I have used this one my dad got given.

Next is the 'mulled' I would love to make my own but this stuff is so nice and it's easy just to add to wine, it's mulled wine syrup and I really like this one.
It's by Makers & Merchants and I bought it from Fenwicks and it was only £5, and you don't need much, you put 8 parts wine and 1 part syrup.

Next, you can add fruit, what ever you want but I used clemintines and apples.

And for the secret ingredient........

Yep, it's a Capri-Sun, I always put one capri-sun in, it just gives a nice fruity taste and takes the edge off the wine.

I turn on the heat and then let it simmer for 10 minutes I turn it off and cover it until the morning, the flavours have the night to infuse together.

I just put it back in simmer when I'm ready to serve it.

And the only thing left to do.....................
It to pour a glass, get your PJ's on and relax with a film..... Bliss.

I hope you are having an amazing Christmas Eve.

Thankyou for reading.

Blogmas Day 23: Merry Christmas from me to me

Welcome back to An appetite for makeup.

So first of all sorry for missing yesterdays post, I was out for the day for my staff party and planned to post when i got in, but I may have had a little too much wine.

Sorry but it is Christmas lol

For todays post, I thought I would show you all a little something I bought myself for Christmas.

On Black Friday, Gerrard Cosmetics had some amazing deals on, I bought two liquid lipsticks for $20, which works out at £14, free shipping.

First, I bought Cher, which is an amazing red brown and I love it, I have a lipstick by gerrard cosmetics called 1995, and it's just a little more red than that, can't wait to wear it.

Next, I bought Iced Mocha, which is a true brown, I'm not sure it suits me but I love it anyway.

And here are some swatches.......

I love the texture of these lipsticks, they are Matt and stay on for ever.

What is your present to your self this year?

Blogmas Day 22: DIY Beauty Box

Welcome back to An appetite for makeup.

This year, me and my closest girls decided to do a secret Santa, £20 limit, I got Libby, I was stumped what to get her.

She subscribes to GlossyBox, and I was looking on the Internet to see if  you could do a more personal box; then I thought why don't I just make her one......

So I got on to Photoshop and did just that.....

So I just used the Glossybox logo but changed it to libbybox, but don't worry if your not great on photoshop, you could do something very similar on other programmes or even just cut out the logo and buy alphabet stickers and do it that way.

Alternatively you could just buy a plain box and draw on it.

In beauty boxes, you get a card explaining how to use the products and brand information, so I thought I would replicate this too...

I listed every item in the box and stated the reason why it's in their, I thought it was a nice thought and my friend loved it.

So what I put inside.............................

I wanted to put things in that I knew she's liked and items to help her have a good relax.

I went for :
A lush bath bomb
Raspberry Gin
Bambi Socks
Colouring Book
Colouring pencils
Yankee Wax Melt
Sleek Lip Pallette.

But you could put anything at all in and completely tailor it for your special person.

I love this idea, and hope you do to.

What would you put in your tailor made beauty box?

Thankyou for reading.

Blogmas Day 21: Get organised for 2016

Welcome back to An appetite for makeup.

So this isn't very Christmassy but it is about how to get organised for the up and coming new year.

I thought I would share with you how I got my self organised for this year and will definitely be repeating this for 2016.

When scrolling through instragram, I came across the 'personal-planner' so I looked in to it.

The planners are completely unique because you can design everything about them.
From the colours, the text, what information you have on each page, additional inserts and what date it starts on.

So to keep it simple, I decided on pink polka dots with a 'N' on but you can choose from lots of different designs or you can have a photo on the front.

I designed my planner to have lots of room to write on the week days, so I can plan things for work, my blog and social events.
But there is loads of different layouts you have pick from, to make it work for you.

There was lots of things you could add, but I choose this 'training' insert, so I could organise my fitness.

You could have inserts in the back pages for lots of different things, however I make a lot of lists, I chose just lots of lined paper in the back of mine, I thought it could double up as a notepad too.

I think this is a really good way to organise your year because you can make it work for you.

I am going to order my new diary in January and this year I will look in to a insert for a food diary because I think this will help me with my weight loss journey.

How do you get organised for the new year?

Thankyou for reading.
