What I ate in a week - Slimming World

Welcome back to an appetite for makeup,

Hello, this is a little different to my usual kind of posts but slimming world and my slimming journey has become a massive of my life, so I wanted to share it with you.

To give you little update on my slimming journey, I have lost 3 stone 2lb, this is mostly through Slimming World and Zumba. This has taken about 3 years, but I wasn't really putting my all in to it and didn't really stick the plan on the weekend at first.

Lost quite a lot in the last few months and I really feel I have got my head properly in to it.

Sorry for all the waffling, let's get in to it.

I watch a lot of 'what I eat in a day' videos on YouTube and they really help me to keep me focused and give me lots of ideas.

So I thought I would take a photo of all my meals through out the week and show you all.

Day 1 - Friday

Breakfast- Salted caramel Hifi bar, watermelon and a coffee.

Dinner- Chicken done in the oven with spices and served with green beans; melon for afterwards.

Tea- Gammon and egg with cauliflower, carrots and crispy kale.

Syns -  Snackajacks - 4.5
                Hifi light - 3

This day, was an SP day; and I really enjoyed it, I just fill my plate up with lots of meat and speed veg and have lots of speed fruit for afterwards, I never felt hungry either.

Day 2 -Saturday

Breakfast - 2 weetabix, with SS milk (150ml) with chopped apple and banana.

Dinner - Bacon, tomato and scrambled egg with an orange and a yogurt filled with berries.

Tea - Chicken in blackbean sauce and boiled rice.

Syns - Chinese in black bean sauce -7.5
               Hifi light - 3

Saturday nights always get me, either with drink, food or usually both.
However tonight I used the online help and researched which was the best meal to have from a Chinese takeaway and it came up with the 'chicken in blackbean sauce'.

Day 3 - Sunday

Breakfast - Hifi bar, banana, Apple and a tea.

Dinner - Sunday's dinner, chicken and beef.

Tea - Sweet chilli hot smoked salmon     with salad.

Syns - hot smoked salmon - 4
               Gravey - 1.5
               Yorkshire pudding - 2.5

Sundays dinner is always a good one for slimming world, fill you plate with veg and meat and all you have to watch is how much gravey you put on. 1.5 syns for 100ml of made up gravey.

Day 4  - Monday

Breakfast - Egg sandwich, strawberries and a coffee.

Dinner - SW sausages, cauliflower, carrot, broccoli, tomato and crispy kale.
Watermelon and raspberries.

Tea - Steak, king prawns, new potatoes, mushrooms, tomatoes and peas.

Syns  - Pombears - 5
            Sesame oil - 2

This day I ate out which can be heavy in the syns, I always go for steak, new potatoes and veg, just make sure nothing is soaked in butter.

Day 5 - Tuesday

Breakfast - Weetabix, raspberries, Apple, orange and a coffee.

Dinner - hot smoked salmon with salad and strawberries.

Tea - Chicken in oyster sauce and brown rice, watermelon for after.

Syns - Curly Wurly - 6

I loved this chicken in oyster sauce dish I made, which I got from the website;
I can't believe it's free and it's packed with veg, I served it with brown rice but it would be lovely with just more veg on the side or spiraled courgrette.

Day 6 - Wednesday

Breakfast - Hifi light, orange and apple.

Dinner - Ham and haloumi (HA) with salad and strawberries on the side.

Tea - Eggy bread, beans, mushrooms and tomatoes.
Watermelon and strawberries and squirty cream.

Syns - 3 dashes of milk - 3
Tbsp of light mayo - 2
           Curly wurly - 6
           Lighter squirty cream - 1.5

I planned for more SP days but sometimes I slip up, so I tried it again, I loved the eggy bread meal with beans and mushrooms.
I'm having that again!!!

Day 7 - Thursday - Weigh day

Breakfast - Hifi bar, Apple, orange and coffee.

Dinner - SW burgers, carrots, pepper, crispy kale and tomato.

Tea - Nachos, as a treat.

Summer flower nails

Welcome back to an appetite for makeup,

Well what can I say, I am so bad at keeping up to date with this blog, I take photos of new products and nail designs with every intention to write a blog post but it just never materialises.........
All I can say is sorry and I'm back, so lets get on with today's post................

Summer flower nails

So what you will need..........

A pink polish
A shimmery green polish
A large gold glitter polish
A gold polish
A blue polish
A yellow polish
A nude polish
A brown polish
A gel top coat
A nail art brush
A small dotter

I know it's a lot of products but it's a summer look and when I think of summer I think of colour.

First I painted all my nails using the pink, nude, gold and shimmery green polishes.

Just to tart the nails up even more, I used a small dotter to place a gold dot on the pink nail near the cuticle.

Then over the gold nail, I used a chunky glitter polish to add that bit of sparkle that was missing.

So on to the flower accent nail...............

On the nude nail, I used a thin nail art brush to make a green diagonal wavy line across the nail.

Using the same green polish and the same thin nail art brush, I drew three leaf shapes along the wavy line.

I didn't have a dark green, so I mixed a yellow and blue polish together, I used the thin nail art brush and my mixed polish to edge the wavy line and the leaves.
Obviously this takes a steady hand but it's quite a layered design so you can hide mistakes with flowers later on in the process.

Using the dotter and the pink polish, dot five dots to make a flower on the wavy line, then using the same polish dot a few small spots randomly along the wavy line.

I mixed the pink and yellow polishes to make this orange shade and I used the dotter tool to make a dot in the centre of the pink flower and a few random dots around the design too.

Using a dotter and a brown polish, I made three small dots in the centre of the orange spot.

And all that's left to do is to seal it all in with a clear top coat.

I absolutely love this design for the summer! And hope you like it too.

Thankyou for reading and I vow to not leave it as long next time lol X X

New Years Resolutions

Welcome back to An appetite for makeup.

Happy New Year; and to kick off 2016.
I thought I would share my New Years Resolutions.

1. So I make this one every year; its to Loose weight.

When I say 'loose weight' I don't mean get a 'beach body' but I mean loose weight to be healthier.
I have been on lots of diets and have lost 3 stone in two years; its come off very slowly but I'm happy with that.
I am on slimming world and I absolutely  love it, I am going to blog more
about it this year

2. Give blood

I have always wanted to give blood, I think it's something really easy for us all to do.
I tried last year and they blew my vein which sounds a lots worse than it actually is.
So this year I will try again.

3. Plan more

This last one is sort of in 4 parts:

1. Plan my blog, this last year I have been so bad at uploading regularly but I kept up with Blogmas really well, so I am going to build on that and really plan my blog post this year.
I am going to plan it all in my adorable notepad my friend drew for me.

2. Plan in exercise, last year I got really in to exercising, by joining the classes and joining the gym, I am going to start back and start going before work again.

3. Planning my food, sort of a continuation from the loose weight resolution but this year I am going to plan my food; exspecially my lunch to take to work.
I bought a lovely Food diary from
'the bloggers hangout', you can get any quote on the front.
I chose a really frequently used quote in my slimming world group.
'Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels'

4. So the very last one is to plan more meet ups with friends and family, everyone is so busy and so am I, but this year I really want to make more of an effort to plan days out and weekend away with my favourite people.

So that is it, I am going to write a post in June and have a recap of how my resolutions are going and if I'm sticking to them.

What are your New Years Resolutions?

Thankyou for reading.

Love
